Slough Residents can learn how to embrace a healthier lifestyle by taking part in exciting family wellbeing workshops at Langley Library from September 19 to October 24.
Langley Library’s wellbeing workshops will Slough show residents how to keep a food challenge diary.The free workshops, taking place every Friday from 10am to 11.30am, aim to challenge perceptions of healthy eating and to demonstrate ways to have a healthy diet.
The sessions will:
* Offer an introduction to the new Langley Library
* Teach visitors how to keep a food challenge diary
* Demonstrate how to make healthy lunchbox meals
Library staff are also hoping to take a walk through Kedermister Park to emphasise the importance of physical exercise.
Gaynor Baveystock, principal librarian of learning and inclusion for Slough Borough Council, said: “The workshops are guaranteed to be lots of fun, with a range of activities, advice on good food and a walk through one of Langley’s beautiful parks.
“With rising obesity a major concern in the UK, we’re making a concerted effort to get Slough residents involved with the wellbeing workshops and keep our town fit and healthy.”
Cllr Chrissy Small, commissioner for Slough health and wellbeing, said: “The library staff have put in a lot of effort arranging the wellbeing workshops, and they’re a great way for residents to learn how to embrace a healthier lifestyle.”
The workshops must be booked in advance, and are open to adults. However, children may attend as long as they are supervised at all times.
