Water Butt Slough winner revealed

The winner of Slough Borough Council’s Big Green Day Out competition to win a water butt collected her eco-friendly prize on Tuesday,July 8.

Barbara Cotterell, from Stoke Road, Slough was presented with her prize by Cllr Satpal Parmar at Wexham Nursery.

Mrs Cotterell entered the competition to win the water butt, which collects rain and can then be used to water the garden in a more environmentally friendly way.

Commissioner for environment and open spaces, Cllr Satpal Parmar, added: “The Big Green Day Out was a huge success and it is fantastic to be giving away a prize that will help the environment.”

Kathryn Horsepool, environmental quality officer for Slough Borough Council, said: “At the Big Green Day Out residents walked away with lots of information on how to look after the environment.

“The waterbutt will be a great addition to Mrs Cotterell’s garden and help to reuse water from the rain and drain pipes for the garden.”
