Langley, Slough police station needs volunteers to run the front office, which is open to members of the public to visit. This is an important role, which supports the local community and also provides an insight into the working of your local police.
We currently need Slough volunteers in the evenings (4pm to 6pm) and at weekends (10am to 4pm), as well as occasional week days.
Volunteers provide a high quality of service to the local Slough community on issues relating to crime and community safety, and improving public access to Thames Valley Police.
The role of a Slough volunteer is to ensure Langley police station remains open at advertised times, and to deal effectively with enquiries from members of the public, whether by phone or in person at the front counter. Some level of form completion is needed and recording of messages or information for police officers is undertaken. Full training is given, initially shadowing a full-time station duty officer and then an experienced volunteer.
If you feel you can assist in this important Slough role to support your community please contact Carla Gale on 01753 506 094 or email her at Carla.Gale@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk, or call in and speak to a member of staff at Langley police station.
