Slough Borough Council will be holding a free employment event tailored for the individual needs of anyone fearing redundancy, getting back into work or for those who have just graduated.
The Slough event will be divided into two workshops as part of an on-going programme that focuses on employability skills for unemployed residents, as well as advice and support for those who have recently graduated and are struggling to find work.
The forum will be held on Wednesday, September 30, at The Centre on Farnham Road, Slough from 9.30pm to 2pm and will include a light buffet.
The aim of this event is to help increase the chances of residents and graduates getting into work, despite the recession. It will also give them the chance to gain advice and support to help them achieve their goals.
Those attending will have the opportunity to network with a number of voluntary organisations and services available in Slough, such as a variety of local employers, as well as speaking to others who are also looking for work and benefit from shared experiences.
Slough Residents will receive guidance and support with applying for jobs and career searching, as well as:
* Learning about opportunities available to develop their employment skills further
* Discovering and considering new areas of career possibilities
* Uncovering proactive tips to boost their applications
* Learning how they can benefit from projects and initiatives to help them get into work/ training and enhance their employability
* Networking with professionals and employers
* Speaking to other people in the same situation and benefiting from shared experiences
* Finding the motivation to create an individual action plan and set own goals
