Protect your Slough bikes after Christmas

Slough People who are lucky enough to receive a new bicycle for Christmas, are being offered free bike marking and crime prevention advice by Slough police.

Crime reduction advisers and Slough Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) from the town centre unit will be holding a bike marking event at the Slough Young People’s Centre, 323 High Street, Slough, on Monday 29 December.

PCSO Stuart Bradfield said: “We will be setting up our stand in the main reception area from 2pm onwards. We hope people will stop by for a chat and to get tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of bike theft, vehicle crime and robbery, as well as information on student safety.

“We are offering a free bike marking service, which helps to deter thieves and enables police to identify the rightful owner if the bike is stolen and recovered. There will also be other free crime reduction goodies available, on a first come, first served basis.

“There’s no need to book an appointment, just drop by. We look forward to seeing you.”
