Man assaulted in Slough

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Slough last week.

At about 6.20pm on Thursday (9/7), a 41-year-old Slough man with learning difficulties was walking home after picking up a takeaway meal from Upton Lea Parade. He took the alleyway from Wexham Road, which runs behind the Irish Club, towards The Frithe.

As he walked along the Slough alleyway, he was approached by three teenage boys who stopped him. One of the youths punched the man several times in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, where he was later found by a passer-by.

The three teenagers, who are all Asian, were wearing dark-coloured sports clothing, some with hoods.

Slough PC Wendy Gibson, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was an unprovoked assault that left a vulnerable man with facial injuries, which require on-going hospital treatment.

“I would appeal to anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with our investigation.”

If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, or have any other information about the incident, please contact Slough PC Wendy Gibson on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police or give your name, please call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
