Man assaulted in Slough park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Slough on Friday (26/6).

Sometime between 5.30pm and 5.45pm the man, who is in his thirties, was walking through Upton Park, Slough towards Mere Road when he was assaulted by a group of people. It is believed that he was hit in the face with an object, possibly a bottle.

The man sustained facial injuries, including a broken jaw, for which he is receiving hospital treatment.

Slough Det Con Ross Fleming, who is investigating the incident, said: “Due to the nature of his injuries, the man has not yet been able to give detailed information about the assault. However, we believe the offenders were among a group of about 11 Asian males and one white male. One of the group was in a wheelchair.

“During subsequent inquiries, officers were told that people from this group may have harassed an elderly woman in a nearby street later that same evening.

“We are appealing for this lady, or anyone else with information about the incident, to come forward and assist with our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Slough Det Con Fleming on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police or give your name, please call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
