Slough Borough Council’s improvement and development team is hosting the Women’s Empowerment event on Tuesday, September 29, to introduce women to various learning and training opportunities.
The free Slough event will run from 9am to 1pm at Baylis House in Slough and everyone is welcome. The main focus will be on economically inactive women in Slough and to show them learning and training options available in the borough.
It’s also aimed at identifying the Slough potential barriers they may face in accessing learning and development opportunities and to identify solutions and options.
Light refreshments and lunch will be provided as well as a free crèche on site, though this does need to be booked beforehand.
Sanzla Bhagi, improvement and development for Slough Borough Council, said: “We’re committed to improving Slough’s economy as well as the skills of local people.
“Events like this are designed to enable women to receive all the information they need about training and skills to get them into the work place. I hope to see many there on the day.”
Cllr Fiza Matloob said: “The council is committed to helping residents get the skills and training they require to find employment and make the most of the many opportunities in and around Slough.
“This event, which is targeted specifically at women, will enable this section of society to gain valuable experience for and open new doors in the future.”
