Dress up for Slough BookStart Day

Slough Library will be celebrating the annual BookStart National Day on Saturday, October 10, by asking children to come along dressed up as their favourite nursery rhyme character.

The event, which starts at 11 am, has been given the nursery rhyme theme this year, with a magic nursery rhyme show, as well as guests, The Mayor of Slough, who will be cutting a cake, and MP Fiona Mactaggart.

All children who go along to the fun day will be given a free nursery rhymes booklet as a gift and stickers.

Salma Barakat, BookStart officer for Slough Borough Council, said: “We’re committed to encouraging children to read and enjoy coming to the library.

“This event will be lots of fun and I can’t wait to see all the children dressed up as their favourite nursery rhyme character.”
