St. Mary’s Church

St. Mary’s Church

Slough, Berkshire ~ Churches
At Saint Mary’s we meet for worship every day.

About us:

The people at Saint Mary’s reflect the people of Slough; Christians from all walks of life and backgrounds meet together regularly for prayers and praise, as well as for social gatherings, such as fund-raising events, our annual harvest festival supper and our parish outings. Saint Mary’s doesn’t just minister to the members of our Sunday congregation: as an Anglican Parish Church we seek to serve everybody who lives and works within the boundaries of our Parish ? through our daily worship, weddings and baptisms, our concerts and arts events, or simply by lending a listening ear.

Our patron saint, Mary, provides a good pattern for our work. We read in the Gospel of Saint Luke, 1.26-33 that, as a young woman, Mary was told that she would be the mother of Jesus. Mary responded to God’s call, consented to His will and so made herself ready for God’s service when she said: ‘Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.’ (Gospel of Saint Luke, 1.38). We believe that it is in being open to the will of God that we can serve Him in the people who surround us.

About us:

Our desire is to fulfil the will of the Heavenly Father, extol the name of Jesus Christ and give free access to the Holy Spirit to move and work in the church.

The Bible is our guide. Our vision is that all God’s children must receive the power of the Lord to reap all of God’s blessings.

We are concerned to see churches grow with the revival fire of the Holy Spirit; that God’s Kingdom be established in each and every person’s heart.

St Paul’s Church

St. Paul’s Church

Slough ~ Worship
St. Paul’s Parish Church is an evangelical Anglican Church based in the heart of Slough.

About us:

As an evangelical Anglican Church, we believe in the authority of the Bible, and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We are an increasingly multi-ethnic congregation, reflecting the diversity within our parish. Committed to spreading God’s word in Slough, we have a vibrant church life, with many different activities for all ages. There are three services held every Sunday at St. Paul’s.

Style of Worship

The worship is led by our music group, whose contemporary worship style, (with guitar, piano, drums, flute, etc.,) complements more traditional hymns played on the organ.

The services themselves are informal, using Anglican liturgy as their foundation. St. Paul’s believes in the authority of the Bible, and talks during the services are based on Biblical texts.

What’s available for families and young people?

Children and young people are catered for during the 10.30a.m. service, with several Sunday school groups and Lazers for the 11 to 16 year olds. A crèche is also available for younger children.

On the first Sunday of each month, St. Paul’s holds a G.R.O.W. (God Rocks Our World) Service. This is aimed at families, providing an opportunity for the whole church community to worship and learn together. Also, on the third Sunday evening of each month, we hold a Youth Service, which is targeted at older children and teenagers, as well as adults.

Communion

Communion will be held at one of the services most weeks, depending on the week of the month. Details are listed in the table below.

Communion is offered to all committed Christians, regardless of denomination.

Refreshments will be served after all the services and this enables fellowship with one and other.
