Attempted robbery in Slough

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Slough on Wednesday (20/1).

At about 8.10pm, a man in his forties was walking along Church Street, Chalvey, Slough when he was approached by a young man who demanded money. The youth claimed to have a knife, although none was seen.

The man shouted to a passer-by to call the police, and the youth fled empty-handed.

SloughDet Con Ian Ingram, investigating officer, said: "We are keen to speak to the passer-by, who may have information that could assist with our investigation.

"I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact me on 0845 8 505 505."
