Slough Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Cippenham on Sunday (15/2).
At about 7.45pm, a man was walking across a bridge over the Jubilee River, near the end of Wood Lane, Slough when he was approached from behind by three men on bikes.
The Slough robbers hit the man on the back of the head and pulled him to the ground while demanding that he handed over his money and mobile phone. When he told them that he had nothing on him, the robbers threatened him with a knife before riding off empty-handed.
The Slough victim, who is in his early twenties, was not injured but was left very shaken by the incident.
One of the robbers is Asian, slim, 5ft 8ins, with a distinctive beard that is short at the sides and shaped to an inch-long point on the chin. He was wearing a head covering of shiny black material tied in a knot, and a dark zipped jacket, and was riding a black BMX bike.
The second robber is white, aged 19 to 20, of medium build with a London accent. He was wearing a white hooded top with a white T-shirt and had a gold sovereign ring on one hand. He was riding a silver mountain bike.
The third robber is Asian, aged 18 to 19, 5ft 6ins with short, black gelled hair. He was riding a yellow/gold mountain bike.
Jill Martindale, robbery co-ordinator at Slough police station, said: “At the time of the incident, a woman cyclist with long blonde hair, wearing a cycle helmet, rode past the footbridge but did not stop. We are appealing for this woman to come forward as she may have information that could assist with our investigation.”
