Arrest made in connection with Slough deputy mayor assault

Slough Detectives investigating an assault on the deputy mayor of Slough have arrested a man in connection with the incident.

The man, who is aged 34 and from the London area, was arrested yesterday afternoon (29/12). He has been released on police bail until Monday 5 January 2009, pending further enquiries.

At around 8pm on Sunday 23 November, Slough Cllr Joginder Singh Bal, aged 53, was assaulted outside his home in Northampton Avenue, Slough. He sustained an injury to his arm, believed to have been caused by a crossbow bolt.

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious at the time of the incident, or who has any other information which could assist police with their enquiries, is urged to contact Det Con Richard Jarvis via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
